Privacy Policy

TrackGPT monitors how AI assistants like ChatGPT talk about your store and its competitors. This page describes exactly what data the app touches — and, just as important, what it never touches.

What we collect from your store

TrackGPT requests a single Shopify permission: read_products . Through it we read your store's name, domain, and product catalog details (titles, product types, vendors, and prices). We use this to suggest the shopping questions worth tracking and to recognize your products inside AI answers.

We do not collect customer data. The app never requests access to your customers, orders, or checkout — those permissions are not part of the app at all. Your shoppers' personal information never reaches TrackGPT.

What we generate and store

  • The prompts (shopping questions) you choose to track.
  • The AI answers sampled for those prompts, stored as raw text so every metric we show can be traced back to its source answer — and recomputed honestly as our extraction improves.
  • Brands, products, positions, and cited sources detected in those answers, and the visibility metrics built from them.
  • Your account email address (if you sign in outside Shopify) and your shop domain, for authentication and support.

Services we rely on

  • Shopify — installation, authentication, and all billing. Payments are handled entirely by Shopify; we never see or store payment details.
  • cloro.dev — our answer-collection partner. We send it the prompt text you track (never any personal or store-private data) and it returns the AI assistant's answer.
  • Automated language-model services — process answer text and public catalog data to extract brands and draft prompt suggestions. No personal data is included in these requests.
  • Hosting infrastructure — the app and its database run on infrastructure operated by the PriceMole team.

Data deletion

Uninstalling the app immediately revokes its access to your store. Shortly after uninstall, Shopify sends the shop/redact request, and we delete your shop record, your account, and all collected data — prompts, answers, and metrics included.

Because we store no customer personal data, customers/data_request and customers/redact requests are satisfied trivially: there is nothing held to return or erase.

Cookies

Inside the Shopify admin, TrackGPT authenticates with Shopify session tokens, not cookies. The standalone web app uses a session cookie strictly for sign-in. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
